Celebrating 30 Years with New Website & On-Line Art Auction
As part of its 30th Anniversary celebration, Mill Street Loft has launched a new website at www.millstreetloft.org. The website is featuring an on-line art auction of juried works by 30 professional Hudson Valley artists. Bids may be made at info@millstreetloft.org through midnight March 3rd with final bids accepted in person only at the annual Friend of the Arts Award event on Thursday, March 4th beginning at 5:30pm at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie. Winners will be announced at the end of the evening’s program. Tickets for the event are $125 per person and may be reserved by calling 845.471.7477 or purchased on-line with a VISA or MasterCard charge. Proceeds from the art auction and event will benefit Mill Street Loft’s Outreach Programs and Youth Scholarships.
The March 4th event, which will honor the Community Foundation of Dutchess County, the James J. McCann Charitable Trust and the Jane W. Nuhn Charitable Trust, will also feature elaborate gourmet foods and live entertainment, including the multi-talented pianist, Peter Muir and performing artists from Mill Street Loft’s faculty. The 30 artworks in the auction were selected from more than 160 pieces submitted. The panel of jurors included: Steven Evans, Managing Director of Dia: Beacon; Linda T. Hubbard, a photographer and co-owner of RiverWinds Gallery in Beacon, and filmmaker and art collector, Sarah Levine.
The distinguished Hudson Valley artists whose works were chosen for Mill Street Loft’s 30th Anniversary silent and on-line auction (one for each year of history) are: Jose Acosta, Ryan Cronin, Virginia Donovan, John Fasulo, Kari Feuer, Stacie Flint, Nicole Ganas, Juan Garcia-Nuñez, Mary Ann Glass, Theresa Gooby, Beth Haber, Erica Hauser, Meredith Heuer, Thomas Huber, Todd Jones, Norm Magnusson, Amy Manso, Gregory Martin, Basha Maryanska, Tim McFadden, Lori Nozick, Sara Pfau, J.
