Voted Most Likely, High School Art Exhibit, Entry Deadline, April 22 & Show Dates, May 15-June 12

From May 15 through June 12, The National Art Honor Society of The Art Institute of Mill Street Loft is presenting the juried high school visual art exhibit entitled, Voted Most Likely (which in previous years was hosted by the Barrett Art Center).  This exhibition is open to all high school students, grades 9-12 in the Hudson Valley. The opening artists’ reception on Saturday, May 15, 5:30pm at Mill Street Loft’s Gallery 45 in Poughkeepsie will feature an awards presentation and refreshments. It is free and open to the public. Prizes will be given to those who demonstrate exceptional ability, originality, mastery of the medium and/or creativity as determined by the judges. The deadline for entries is Thursday, April 22 at 5pm and details are available at the website:  www.millstreetloft.org.  Works may be submitted in the following categories: Drawing, Painting, 3-D/Sculpture, and Digital. The judges for Voted Most Likely are working professional artists: Ann Marshall, G. Judges for the Voted Most Likely exhibit at Mill Street Loft’s Gallery 45 include:

Ann Marshall grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York City, she has worked in a gallery, illustrated children’s books and traveled nationally and internationally as an ethnographer and consumer anthropologist. She now works as a fine artist and teaches at the Art Institute of Mill Street Loft.

G. Brian Karas, a prolific illustrator, writer and educator, was born in Milford, CT and currently lives with his family in the Hudson Valley. His books have won recognition and awards from the New York Times, American Library Association, New York Public Library, American Booksellers and others. Recent titles include: Young Zeus (Scholastic); The Village Garage (Henry Holt); Muncha! Muncha! Muncha! (Simon & Schuster); and Cinder-Elly (Viking).

Stephen Spaccerelli lives and works in Beacon, NY.  His works have been exhibited at the Van Brunt Gallery in Beacon, the Yellow Bird Gallery in Newburgh and Coulter Young Gallery in Peekskill, among others.  He attended the Maryland Institute College of Art.
