Awards & Honors

Mill Street Loft:

  • Building Bridges – 1992, Voted by Child Magazine “One of the ten best after-school childcare programs in the Nation”.
  • Project ABLE – 1997 BRAVO Arts for Change Award for one of the six posters selected by the USDA for its National Team Nutrition Program, recognized by the White House.
  • Habilidad – Poughkeepsie High School student, Edgar Rivera (now a scholarship student at Vassar College) received First Prize in The History Channel Hispanic Heritage Month Photo Collage Contest in January 2007. The contest, also sponsored by KODAK, included a $500 prize for an original photo and artwork depicting a reflection of Hispanic culture.
  • Dutchess County Executive’s Award for Arts Organization
  • Art Institute – Poughkeepsie High School student, Michael White, awarded Dutchess County Executive’s Art award for Student of Exceptional Promise.
  • Art Institue – 2009, Art Institute students receive 32 of 38 Gold Keys awarded regionally in the Scholastic Arts Awards. FDR High School student, Christine Batson, was awarded the American Visions Award in the national Scholastic Arts Awards finals.
  • Art Institue – 2010, Art Institute students receive 18 Gold Keys, 6 Silver Keys, and 3 American Vision Awards (Best of Show) awarded regionally in the Scholastic Arts Awards.

Carole J. Wolf, Founder and Executive Director:

  • the Dutchess Community College Recognition Award for 25 years of teaching
  • The Poughkeepsie Rotary Club Service Above Self Award
  • Community Service Award from the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce
  • a Certificate of Merit from the New York State Assembly; The Best of the Hudson Valley Social Activist Award
