Poughkeepsie Youth Challenge

The Poughkeepsie Youth Challenge offers artistically motivated and talented students with financial need the opportunity to earn a fully paid scholarship for three or four years of specialized visual arts training to earn them scholarships to college.

The Art Institute began in 2000, with the goal of helping talented visual arts high school students build skills and develop portfolios to compete for college scholarships. In the last 14 years, our students have been awarded over $33 million in scholarships to the nation’s finest colleges, universities and art schools. The Art Institute classes take place after school, on weekends, and in the summer. There are three sessions each year: Winter/Spring (Feb.–May), Fall (Sept.–Dec.), and the Summer Arts Intensive (July–Aug.).

Students accepted into the Poughkeepsie Youth Challenge will receive FREE tuition to all classes for three or four years (until high school graduation), free art supplies, one-to-one counseling, mentoring from professional artists, and more.

Fill out the application.  Both you and your family will need to fill it out. There are a LIMITED NUMBER OF PLACEMENTS AVAILABLE, so please submit your application now.

If you have the talent, the desire, and the discipline, YOU can be part of the Poughkeepsie Youth Challenge, and on your way to a career in the arts.
