Turn it Up!, a 2011 production of Project ABLE youth in collaboration with Children’s Media Project’s Radio Uprising, was featured weekly on Vassar College Radio all summer. Students wrote, produced, hosted, composed, and performed the entire radio broadcast, identifying and exploring issues important to youth.
Project ABLE youth worked with professional musician Jeff Haynes to create an original CD of poetry set to original music, summer 2010.
ABLE youth shared their ideas and reflections at President Obama’s “Great Outdoors Initiative,” part of a national dialogue on how communities can conserve outdoor spaces.
Designed and created largest mural in Poughkeepsie, “Careers, Education and Community” installed in the Pershing Avenue Playground, 2007-2010. Funded in part by a National Endowment for the Arts Challenge America Grant
Received the 1997 BRAVO Arts for Change Award and were recognized by the White House.
