Imaginative Painting


This course focuses on tapping into the power of the imagination. Students will explore fantasy, dreams, hybrid creatures, outer space, futuristic vehicles and much more. Throughout the course, they will learn basic concepts about color, line, and form. We will explore examples of unique artwork from around the world and make exciting discoveries about how imagination can take their creativity beyond what they ever thought possible.

Joe Pimentel has extensive experience working with children as a substitute teacher as well as a Teaching Artist for Dutchess Arts Camp, Wappingers Summer Camp, and Dia:Beacon’s Art Education Program. He has also been part of the Artist in Residency Program for a number of elementary and middle schools where he created collaborative murals with students. Joe is passionate about engaging children in projects that really allow them to explore their artistic abilities and engage the power of imagination. A Parsons School of Design graduate in Fine Art Illustration, Joe has freelanced for several clothing companies and also worked as a Graphic Artist in an industrial design firm that specializes in supermarket interior designs. He continues to do freelance illustration and also shows his personal artwork in galleries throughout the Hudson Valley.
