Portfolio Development I
Introduces students to perspective, color, shape, line, form, and classical art techniques; prepares students to take the more advanced pre-college Portfolio Development II course. (Course is based on student level and is non-sequential)

Portfolio Development II
The second course in the series of portfolio courses where students will expand their study of perspective, color, shape, line, form, and classical art techniques; prepares students to take the more advanced pre-college Portfolio Development III course. (Course is based on student level and is non-sequential)

Portfolio Development III
Students will develop a solid portfolio through the study and application of college level requirements. Course is designed to prepare students for the more advanced Portfolio Development IV. (Course is based on student level and is non-sequential)

Portfolio Development IV (Fall only)
The final course in the portfolio development series. Students will work on developing a solid portfolio for college scholarship competition. College requirements, application processes and career options are reviewed. Visits by the nation’s top schools are scheduled for each session. (Course is based on student level and is non-sequential)

Photography Saturdays & Wednesdays
A lesson plan and class goal will be set individually for each student in both Saturday and Wednesday classes. Black and white film processing and darkroom print-making are explored. Creative expression is emphasized with the accent on the art of seeing. Cameras, darkroom equipment and materials are provided. At Oakwood Friends School.

Figure Drawing & Painting
The focus is on basic human anatomy, gesture and contour drawing, figure proportions, and the figure in environments.

Sculptural Welding
This course will explore the fundamentals of welding. Skill building and technique will be stressed. Students are encouraged to bring their own metals. Studio & welding fee included. In Walkill.

The Road to Scholarships: Parent & Student Prep
This course offers personal one-on-one guidance for each participant as well as group guidance through “workshops.”  These will include, but not be limited to: Applying to and Finding Colleges, Preparing Your Portfolio & The Interview Process, Understanding the Money & Alternative Scholarship Sources, and Increasing the School’s Offer. An essential course to achieve scholarships.

Senior Project (Fall only)
This advanced course will help seniors develop a single body of work focused around a single theme of their own choice for the purpose of applying to college. Students must show a portfolio to the director and participate in the interview process to be considered for the program.
(Class is limited to 8 high school seniors, who have participated in the Summer Intensive, or Portfolio Development III or IV
