National Art Honor Society

Chapter 2242

In 1978, the NAEA began the NAHS program specifically for high school students grades 10-12, for the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art. The NAHS also strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of their highest potential in art areas, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.

Our chapter, founded in 2004, strives to help students reach the highest level of professionalism as the begin their pursuit of careers in the arts. Member students do so by volunteering in community service projects, murals, hosting and organizing art events (exposure photography competition), fundraising to support the local arts (Alumni Auction), and creating and providing venues in which students may showcase their work (Regional Portfolio Day, college visits, and Educator’s Forums).

In addition, members organize and participate in trips to museums, galleries, and points of interest. They our leaders in their community, showcasing their work at numerous group and solo exhibits each year.
